Arizona Support for Biden Shrinks to 36 Percent in Poll Including Robert F. Kennedy, Jill Stein

A poll of Arizona voters released Wednesday showed support for President Joe Biden shrunk to just 36 percent in an election including former President Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dr. Jill Stein and intellectual Cornel West.

The survey of Arizona registered voters found, in a five-way contest, 43 percent of the Arizona electorate would vote for Trump while just 36 percent who would vote to give Biden a second term.

Pollsters found an additional 8 percent support Kennedy’s independent presidential bid, while 2 percent plan to vote for the Green Party presidential candidate and 1 percent for West’s independent candidacy. An additional 10 percent were undecided when given the five options.

Biden’s vote share decreased substantially compared to a head-to-head race between Biden and Trump.

When given a choice of Trump or Biden, 44 percent of respondents chose the likely Republican nominee and 41 percent supported the Democratic incumbent. When given two choice, 15 percent of voters were not sure.

The Noble Predictive Insights (NPI) survey of 1,003 registered voters was conducted May 7-14 and pollsters predicted a margin of error of 3.09 percent.

While Republicans reportedly consider Kennedy’s candidacy a threat to Trump’s electoral odds, the pollsters found the former Democrat’s “presence in the race hurts Biden more, causing his support to drop by 5 points,” with Biden’s greatest losses among Democrats, independents, and voters between ages 18 and 34.

Additionally, though the pollsters did not ask voters about the likely U.S. Senate race between Kari Lake and Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-03), their findings may offer good news for her campaign after a separate survey showed her behind by double digits.

According to NPI Chief of Research David Byler, the number of Arizona Republicans who are part of the MAGA-wing of the party is increasing.

Byler explained, “Arizona is really a three-party state. There are Democrats, moderate Republicans, and MAGA Republicans. Now that Trump has officially sewed up the GOP presidential nomination and is squarely facing off against Biden, his MAGA wing is gaining strength.”

Lake was endorsed by Trump immediately after declaring her candidacy and secured an endorsement from Donald Trump Jr. earlier this month.
